Walk in the park…

February 22nd, 2010

Our walk in the forest started off well. A gentle track and good weather made for an enjoyable walk. Missed a crucial (unmarked!) turn half way through, and ended up walking 2 km and an hour more than we thought we would but it was all good. The stairs at the end were a killer…

Gunn Estate Pinot Noir 2008

February 22nd, 2010

Damn, that is some tasty shit, yo.

Some Pinot Noirs can be nasty. But this one is superb. Highly recommended, 5/5.

Eggs Benedict ala scottg26

I have just created the ultimate Eggs Benedict ever made:

Danny’s Real Wholemeal Garlic Pita Bread (toasted to perfection), streaky bacon (fried to perfection), 2 free range eggs (also fried to perfection), Kato Hollandaise sauce, and a fried tomato. Garnished with freshly ground black pepper. Followed by a side of steamed/boiled broccoli.

I give it 5/5 stars.

Gillette vs the world

February 22nd, 2010

Although it is true that the Gillette Fusion razor is an over-priced piece of shit, it may be that Gillette’s Fusion Shaving Gel is even worse. The Fusion razor performed less tragically when used with King of Shaves oil and gel. Stay tuned for more details…

Samsung 2443

January 30th, 2010

The Samsung 2443 24" TN LCD Monitor.

1920×1200. 5ms response time.

It’s actually pretty good.

vs the Dell 2407 WFP:

Well, 1:1 pixel mapping works for starters. Black levels are better, white levels are worse, and colours look a little washed out on the 2443. Of course, TN panels all have shit viewing angles and this one is no exception, the 2407 clearly comes out on top in that regard.

Nice ship design, Unicron

January 22nd, 2010

Galvatron’s ship is rather stupid. Observe:

Galvatron pushes the button to open the air lock
Transformers_Air_Lock_01
The air lock opens
Transformers_Air_Lock_02

Galvatron is currently speaking to Cyclonus on the Bridge in the pictures above. Note that the air lock opens directly to space. Not really much of an airlock then, is it? Further, why do robotic beings that do not breathe need air at all, let alone an air lock?

If I were Unicron, I would have labeled this "air lock" as "EXIT" or simply "DOOR".

Gillette Update

January 22nd, 2010

The Fusion did better after shaving two days in a row. It didn’t pull at all, it just cut. It is only good for short hair, and is still damn expensive.
