Wild Rock Merlot Malbec 2008

Saturday, September 25th, 2010

Wild Rock Merlot Malbec 2008, silver in the New World wine awards, 5 stars from Cuisine magazine. 5/5 from me, an outstanding red. We had it with fish pie, and although in summer I’d rather pair it with a Sav, they went together very well.

Russian Jack Pinot Noir 2009

Tuesday, September 21st, 2010

The first of the New World 2010 Wine Awards that I’ve tried, the Russian Jack Pinot Noir 2009 won a gold medal and was about $15. It’s an excellent wine that went perfectly with the pizza I had with it. It also didn’t stain my teeth and lips purple like most other reds. 5/5. You can read more about it here: http://m.newworld.co.nz/wines/2010/russian-jack-pinot-noir
