Onkyo TX-SR507 and Sony Speakers
Yesterday I upgraded from a Panasonic home-theatre-in-a-box system to an Onkyo TX-SR507 Amp and Sony SA-V835ED 5.1 speakers. (Otherwise known as Sony "Pascal" speakers.)
The most important step is to run the Onkyo Audyssey auto-setup with the included microphone, and then make sure Audyssey Dynamic EQ is turned on. (mine was off by default, even though the manual says it should have been on by default…)
I had to play with the settings a little as it made the centre speaker too quiet but apart from that it’s pretty awesome. The surround sound is incredible, watching the Star Trek (2009) Blu-Ray (on the PS3).
